Last year, #ECHA and EU Member States inspectors (ECHA's Enforcement Forum) found excessive levels of hazardous chemicals in products that were sold to consumers and professionals. In total 18 % of the inspected products breached the EU laws (https://lnkd.in/eAJirszm). We refuse to settle for such level of non-compliance and our work continues beyond this discovery. Today, we met with stakeholders and EU inspectors to discuss the results and explore how to improve the situation. By engaging with our partners from industry, we can work together to improve compliance. Thank you to all attendees for the great discussions. We all play a role in protecting consumers and keeping the EU market safe and competitive. Stay tuned for updates and conclusions on our website - https://lnkd.in/egGs4wGN #ChemicalSafetyEU

Executive Director of the European Chemicals Agency | Chemical safety through science, collaboration and knowledge
Take a look at European Chemicals Agency's main achievements last year – including our work under the EU’s chemicals legislation and new tasks relating to drinking water, batteries and cross-border health threats. Support to the Commission on its chemicals strategy for sustainability was also high on our agenda. 2023 was my first full year as #ECHA’s Executive Director and I appreciate all the discussions I had with staff and colleagues in the Commission, the EU Agencies, Member States, industry stakeholder groups and civil society organisations. As an Agency, we rely on close engagement and collaboration with them. https://lnkd.in/djGbgzj5 #ChemicalSafetyEU
